RUNWAY STATUS

• Sept. 2012 – Nov. 2013      North/South Runway Closure

The Eastern Parallel North/South Runway (18L/36R) will be closed for approximately 15 months to rehabilitate the runway and adjacent taxiways. The East/West Runway (9/27) may require short-term closures as well.

“The runway rehabilitation program is necessary for ongoing safe and efficient operations at the airport,” said Tim Zeis, Chief Operating Officer. “Much like highway repairs, we know these projects can be inconvenient on a temporary basis, but they are necessary for safe transportation.”

Construction is required from time to time to make airfield repairs. During these times, flight procedures may be temporarily changed, resulting in increased traffic over certain areas. We make every effort to keep construction periods as short as possible.
