Media are allowed unescorted in all public areas of CVG. The CVG media team needs to be notified before coming on property to alert CVG security staff. Any live media broadcast is considered a commercial activity and requires advance notification.

Media must be escorted into all restricted and post-security areas. CVG media team will provide escorts when staffing permits. Media representatives must have a valid government photo identification card and current media credentials, and must be screened. According to federal rules, access to the Air Operations Area (AOA) must be strictly controlled at all times. News organizations and journalists will not be given access to this area without prior airport approval.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA, www.tsa.gov/public/) has implemented policies regarding photographing/videotaping security procedures. News media are not allowed to photograph or videotape display screens inside security checkpoints, as well as security systems or security personnel where such activity interferes with screening personnel in performance of duties.

Shops, eateries, and airline ticket counters are leased space. Media must have the tenant’s permission to photograph, videotape, or conduct interviews in those areas.

Cables, extension cords, lights, etc., may not be placed in any public area without prior approval from the CVG media team. These items must not interfere with passenger flow or airport operations.
